Riding the Waves

The ocean is a beautiful place.

It is full of creation and life, and full of uncertainty and the unknown. Just to think that the highest tip of Mount Everest would not reach the surface of the ocean if placed at the bottom of Mariana's Trench.

The ocean should be respected. In a matter of minutes it can change its mood from a relaxed, easy-going flow of ups and downs, to a fierce, forceful, unpredictable mass of chaos that can suck you in and spit you out in a moment.

A fear of the ocean is healthy, but a fear filled with admiration, awe, and inspiration.

That's where Waves is formed out of.

We realise that life is full of ups and downs. Seasons of pressure will come and go, and the waves of life are never ending.

It can become tiring. We can become restless. Just think about a surfer - the best place to be is ON the board, riding the waves. The surfer doesn't curse the waves, but rather the surfer embraces the ebb and flow of the inconsistency. The surfer embraces the way the waves crash around them. They paddle out into the unknown making decisions along the way to do one of three things: 1) take a breath and dive under, waiting to see what is on the other side, 2) take the hit of the wave and risk getting caught up in the swell underneath the surface of the water, or 3) stand up and ride the wave that may lead them to where they want to go, or on to a new adventure, with new waves.

Here's the point: the surfer will never know what waves are coming up. But they have the power to make the decision to dive, crash, or ride.

Thats what we, at Waves, want to do. We want to help you build the confidence to make that decision every single day. We know that life's waves aren't going to stop. But we know that together, we can ride the waves of life.

Who knows where those waves will take us...
